Danger of AI as destroyer of the average, competitor of the above average (meritous but not distinct) and below in any category.

 Then what?

Don't be just above average, be the best in that little category?

That which 

defies categorisation, 

defies centralisation,

or is performance independent, 

remains limited, despite excellent performance. 

It's a cruel cruel world getting crueler, indeed.
